Bondax - Gold (DE$iGNATED Bootleg)

Bondax's 'Gold' has been out for a while now, and you don't need me to tell you how damn good it is (really damn good).
Well fellow UK based duo DE$iGNATED have since had their wicked way with it, moving away from the mellow, tropical vibes of the original and turning up the tempo all the way to the garage tip. It ain't easy remixing a track as widely loved and lauded as 'Gold'. But with a fine approach and clean production skills, DE$iGNATED have given the track a whole new dimension.
Check this slick bootleg in the YouTube player below and be sure to grab the FREE download here.

Printfields - Tell You (Original Mix)

Senegal's Taches and Guilford, UK based producer KAASI have started a new collaborative project, releasing under the name Printfields. The ingenius name screams clean, industrial styled order and function, aptly reflecting the kind of minimal, heavily Berlin inspired House you'll find in their debut release, 'Tell You'.
If you're into all things deep and rhythmic then it won't take long before this track finds it's way into your most played list.
With such a promising and successful start already behind this new production duo, we are really looking forward to seeing what they'll put out across the year.

Zedd - Clarity (Gentlemen Thieves Remix)

A lot of the trap sounds coming out these days seem to be running a fine line between having that studio 'pop' sound and not.
In this case, Gentlemen Thieves remix of Zedd's 'Clarity' strays dangerously close, without giving up it's edge completely. Some might be tempted to dismiss the track's cheesy vocal leads and synth harmonies, but what the Gentlemen Thieves have proved with this remix; is that even the tackiest EDM/pop track holds the potential for some trapped out yet melodic beats.
Check the preview and hear for yourself below. If it sounds like your thing, then be sure to cop the remix for FREE via Facebook

Bambarra - Gimme That

The week is almost at its end, Friday is rapidly approaching and i've already got something to switch on that living-for-the-weekend mentality.
The good folks at Digital Pirate Material have sent over the first of a new series of FREE releases forthcoming throughout the year. 'Gimme That' is latest of many vibrant house productions from up and coming UK based artist Bambarra.Cheekily sampling that legendary vocal from Kathy Brown's House classic 'Turn Me Out', Bambarra pulls out all the stops here to make a track that is about as deep and vibey as House can get. Dark basslines, grooved up leading melodies and of course those classic vocals, it's all there and it's just what you need.
Check the preview below and be sure to grab the FREE download here.
Turn it on, turn it up and let the music take you.

DEVolution - My Friends

When Pete Devereux of Artful Dodger fame and former Size Records artist Tom Devos come together it can only mean good things for electronic music. Unsurprisingly the duo's, now known collectively as DEVolution, latest single 'My Friends' is a vibey masterclass in how to make crisp house grooves. It's intelligent, dancefloor friendly and what's more, a FREE download courtesy of the world's sexiest DJ Miss Annie Mac.
The only downside is it's a radio edit and not the full master. But, with a FREE track this good, you just can't complain.....

Justin Timberlake - Suit & Tie ft. Jay-Z (Bailey Remix)

JT's comeback single hasn't been out for long and already the remixes are pouring in. Top of the lot however is Bailey's easy going House remix.
The track's melodic synth leads and hit hat rides, together with Timberlake's cheesy vocals give it a kind  90s Garage/House vibe that we've got a real soft spot for.
This one's also another FREE download so be sure to check it out below.

Seal - Crazy (Clip! Bootleg)

It's a wonder I haven't more sampling and remixing of Seal's material, I feel like his awesome vocals would always lend themselves positively to any musical direction. Red Bull Music academy alumni Clip! has certainly made the most of them in his recently released 'Crazy' bootleg. The barcelonan's unique production style really shines through as he abandons a somewhat expected 4-to-the-floor rhythm structure, choosing instead to focus on a broad low end and a strong synth led melody that drives the solid beats (complete with 'smashing glass' crash) into an unusual and almost hypnotic rhythm structure.
This really is one of the most unique and captivating tracks i've heard in a while, it's only failing being perhaps its short length (although clocking at 3.56, it's hardly short, I just want more).
Stream the track below and be sure to grab the FREE download here. While you are at it, check out the rest of Clips! FREE, bass heavy bootlegs here and keep your eye out for his first EP release, forthcoming on Ensmble.

Star One - Copyright EP

UK duo Star One have just sent over their latest release to kick of 2013, the ‘CopyRight EP’. The Kentish siblings are on top form with the FREE five track EP covering everything from bootlegged classics to future bass vibes, trapped out riddims, hard hitting grime and four-to-the-floor rollers. Amongst the reworks, one stand-out is of course their spin on Julio Bashmore's huge 2012 viber 'Au Seve'. In the hands of Star One, this housey roller has taken a darker turn, full of grimey licks and and BIG bassline appeal. Meanwhile for the DnB heads, 'King of Kings', sampling Fanton Mojah's  'Hail The King’, is sure to be rinsed all over junglist dancefloors across the year.
The garage vibes aren't at all in short supply either, with 'How Deep' providing the sweet 2step grooves  and 'Looking Forward' taking care of those speed garage cravings.
Never ones to disappoint, the Star One boys have yet another solid versatile release in the ‘CopyRight EP’. Although the EP's opening and weakest track, the trap inspired 'I Don't Like', might put some off, this release is yet another demonstration of the pair's versatile production talent, certain to lead them toward big things in 2013.

Taches - Vegas

Our favourite senegalese producer Tåches has been hard at work, having just sent over his latest Future Bass/Trap inspired track 'Vegas'.
With the soulful vocals of Avant's 'Separated'  chopped and screwed to form the track's centrepiece; the end product has that 'slow jam vibes against spaced out grooves' feel that we're loving so much right now.
Check the full stream below...if that kind of vibey goodness sounds like your thing, then be sure to go ahead and grab the FREE download here.

RAILBIRD – Mirrors (School of Seven Bells remix)

Brooklyn indie pop outfit RAILBIRD have been making waves since the release of their 'Lucky' EP last year and now with indie/electro duo School of Seven Bells on remix duty, the stand out track 'Mirrors' has been given a whole new lease of life. Gone is the original’s recognisably 'Brooklyn' blend of skittering guitars and judderd percussion, replaced with dreamy downtempo pool of reverb-laden synth and methodically chopped up vocals. It's a refreshing take on an old formula and definitely one for those indie/chillwave fans amongst you to check out.  Preview below and grab the FREE download here.

1963 - Kerosene Kiss

Welcome to 2013 HotBox readers! After a very generous few days off, it's time to get back to work and see what music the new year has in store for us.
Kicking things off is a trippy, ambient bit of audio experimentation from the previously featured 1963. 'Kerosene Kiss' is a track that is a constant yet subtle state of ambiguity, drifting towards downtempo, chillout vibes but with an unsettling dark tone that gets close to, but never quite reaches a position of warmth and calm.
It may not be the most accesible track, but it's an interesting listen and just the kind of far-reaching, exploratory music i'm hoping to find throughout 2013.
Check it below and grab the FREE download here.
